Tech for Brides: How to Plan an Awesome Honeymoon

Congratulations – you’ve survived your wedding, and now you’re married! Next stop, a honeymoon with your new spouse. The next couple of weeks should be all bliss, luxury, and carefree travel…right?

Too often, planning and affording a honeymoon for a newlywed couple can be tough. This is especially true if both of you have been set back financially from your wedding. Luckily for you, with the tech resources out there, going on your dream honeymoon is easier than you think!

Don’t know where to go or what to do? Browse Wanderfly.com! We love this savvy site, which compiles travel recommendations and reviews from people who have been to many of the world’s most popular destinations. Think of it like a Yelp created especially for travellers. You can search by travel destination, or narrow your search by what you’re looking for in a vacation, whether it be “adventure”, “romance”, “culture”, or something else. See what there is to do at your honeymoon destinations, read reviews on restaurants, hotels, and activities, and start making your honeymoon plans!

So you’ve planned your perfect honeymoon…now get your guests to pay for it with a honeymoon registry! If you haven’t heard of these nifty things, honeymoon registries are very much like regular registries, except you ask guests to contribute funds to your honeymoon travel, lodging, food or activities. While there are a lot of options out there to choose from, we personally like Wanderable.com’s registry system. (Not to be confused with Wanderfly, above!) With Wanderable, it’s easy for you to make your honeymoon wish list to show your guests. Guests can pay with cash, check, PayPal, or credit card. Even better – Wanderable tracks all your guest’s contributions, so when it comes time to write thank you notes, you know exactly who gave you what.

When it’s time to leave on a jet plane, make sure you have all your travel plans in one easily accessible place! TripIt is a great, FREE app that helps you keep track of all your travel plans – from flight confirmations and car rental information, to your trip itinerary and reservations. Nice!

Hi there! I saw this post and just wanted to share a great site I have been using to plan our honeymoon to Japan. We are going for two weeks and want to see everything we can!

    tripomatic.com

This site pulls up a map of your destination with all the local sites to see – museums, shopping, food, and much more. You then can add the site to your a day in your trip itinerary and it will show you walking routes to the places you want to go! This has made our trip planing much simpler – especially since we are traveling to a place very foreign for us.
