Aloha! First off I’d like to thank Wedding Party for allowing me the opportunity to guest post on their beautiful blog! I’m Sara of Burnett’s Boards – and I’ve been called an inspiration board guru and I’d love to tell you why you need inspiration boards in your life.
Basically – inspiration boards are a fantastic way to start your wedding planning process. They come in all different shapes, sizes, styles, colors, and themes, and can help you decide where you should have your wedding (indoors, outdoors?) what it should look like (vintage? Rustic? Modern?) and what colors it should be.
When you find one that ‘speaks to you’ – one that makes you drool a little bit and you end up making it your computer desktop picture – here’s what you should do with it.
- Pin it to a Pinterest board called ‘my wedding’ (or something along those lines)
- Pin other images that compliment and add to the look and feel of your inspiration board.
- Share the link to your Pinterest board with your wedding planner and other vendors that will be working with you on your wedding.
A couple of things to be aware of: Pinterest can be a scary and overwhelming place for new brides-to-be and I totally understand that. That’s why it is SO IMPORTANT to only pin images to your wedding board that compliment the look of your favorite inspiration board. Otherwise it’s going to look like a hot mess. Practice restraint!
There are many excellent and creative ideas out there, but you need to pair them down and make sure that everything suits your wedding. After all – this is your big day, not everyone else’s!
