Your reception makes up more then half of your wedding, so of course, you want it to go smoothly. But how do you guarantee that happens? How do you transition from entrance, to dinner, to dancing all without breaking a sweat? The answers are actually really simple and today we are going to share them with you!
1. Plan ahead. – Start your reception planning process early. Be sure to take into consideration important factors like your venue layout and guest with special needs, as these things may affect your scheduling. It is also a good idea to prioritized your reception activities . For example, if you can’t wait to party with all of your guest, consider skipping a few traditional wedding activities that you aren’t super excited about doing for some much deserved party time. It’s your wedding, do what you want too!
2. Be realistic. - Give yourself plenty of time to do each reception activity. You want to be able to enjoy yourself and not feel rushed on your big day so be sure to add a little extra wiggle room to all activities when making your schedule. You’d be surprised how long a simple bouquet toss can take. It can get ugly.
3. Get everyone on board - Make sure everyone involved with planning is on the same page by sending out a schedule to all vendors and wedding party members well in advance. We also love the idea of displaying the reception timeline at the wedding so the guests will be in the loop as well.
4. Be flexible and have fun! - It’s your big day, and while keeping things running smoothly is great, the most important thing is that you and your groom enjoy the experience. So whether your running 5 minutes behind schedule or 50, try to stop and smell the roses. Your florist did such a fab job arranging them after all! (Hehe)
