The mimosas will be flowing and you’ll be surrounded by your best friends. These girls have been by your side through the best times and it makes sense that your most exciting moment leading up to the aisle will be with them by your side. Part of the wedding morning most brides leave until the last few weeks is what they’ll wear when they are getting ready. Not only can beautiful and unique attire make for some stunning photos, but it’s another way to bring cohesion into your wedding day. The key to any getting ready attire is to make sure the hair that you’ve just had done doesn’t get messed up! So what are your options?!
1. Let’s talk robes!
One of the best gifts to yourself and bridesmaids is a robe that can be worn again after your wedding. I’ve been in two weddings as a bridesmaid and the bride gifted all the girls a robe to fit our personality! So even though the robes were different, there was still a uniform look that brought us all together. From Plum Pretty Sugar to Etsy shops – you’re sure to find some great deals!
These days we all love monograms and what’s better than a regular old monogram – the new one that you’ll be sporting with your new initials. Not only will this be one of the first items that you have with your new name, but it’s a great keepsake. Your girls will also enjoy having their something special monogrammed. Put it on the sleeve of a men’s shirt, pajama set or even on a robe, either way it’s great for a photo-op and not to mention so comfortable!
3. Spell it out.
What’s bride without her bridal party? Even though your girls will not forget what part they played in your wedding, it’s always fun to give them a little something that spells out their duties. Not to mention very few occasions call for a “bride” robe, so you may as well milk it, unless you’re like me and still wear it because it’s that soft and lovely. Not only is Etsy the perfect place to get these “sets” but Victoria Secret’s Bridal Boutique offers a great “bridal collection”
4. Be Unique.
If you’re looking for something a little different for the morning of, there are plenty of options including rompers, custom sweats, sports jerseys and spa robes, just to name a few.
A personal favorite of mine has become the “I Can’t Keep Calm, I’m Getting Married” racer- back tank that can be purchased from Etsy! On my wedding day I chose a romper for the salon and then changed into my bridal robe for the pictures in the suite. As I mentioned, I still like to wear my bride robe because as my husband likes to say, I’ll always be his bride! One thing I wish I would have done is gotten the ladies something that they could have gotten ready in – mostly because it would have been another keepsake to make the day just as special for them.
So brides and bridesmaids, what would you like to get ready for the wedding in? What getting ready look do you like for the girls?
