When I first got engaged and began to plan my wedding, I was extremely adamant about an October date, but apparently so was every other bride planning their 2013 nuptials! As luck would have it, March was a better fit for our wedding, but I still dream of the perfect chic Fall wedding, to the same man of course! I am not alone in my adoration for this season – the vibrant colors, the crispness in the air, there’s a reason that venues are booked out well in advance, it’s the perfect time of year. So just how do you turn your affinity for pumpkins and apple cider into a wedding – read below for some ideas!
We often think elements of the season should be off limits when it comes to your wedding decor, but in this instance it might be in your best interest, as well as your wallets, to incorporate pumpkins, apples and lanterns into your details. Spray paint mini pumpkins for escort cards or even trying this Log Fire DIY as a centerpiece adds just the right amount of theme into your day without being over the top!
Pastels are not off limits due to the leaves turning!! Don’t be afraid to incorporate all the colors of the season into bouquets and centerpieces – orange is not of limits just because it might seem too “Fall-like” – it could all depend on the flower chosen! Check out this informative guide to wedding flowers by season and location.
A great place to incorporate a little theme into your wedding is at the dessert table!! From apple cider donuts to caramel apples, your guests are going to love this ode to Fall! Not only are donuts and apples budget friendly, but having a setup where guests can make their own dessert is a great way to liven up the often forgotten part of the wedding!
Don’t forget this sweet treat for your wedding guests so that they can keep the theme going after your wedding!
For so many of us this is our favorite time of year and it doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate some of your favorite elements of this season into your event. Your wedding is the perfect opportunity to embrace the rich color palette and use it to your advantage without coming off as too theme driven!
Personally I’m a guest at two upcoming weddings and I would love to see some of the above inspiration incorporated! Would you ever consider a Fall wedding? What would be your favorite element to incorporate?
