Sweet spring wedding invitation trends perfect for your wedding

This spring, it’s all about the glamour, from sweeping dramatic gowns and statement shoes, to the prettiest spring wedding invitations you’ve ever seen. Rich metallics, sophisticated florals, and elegant typography shine in this season’s invitation trends, and I’ve rounded up just a few of my favorites here.

Luxurious touches of silver, gold, copper, and bronze make for a rich finish on your wedding invitation set. Add metallic touches with foil borders, polka dots, and flourishes, or consider using it as an envelope liner.

There’s a reason this color combination has stood the test of time. This season, the classic gets an update with chalkboard and typeset looks. Craving a bright pop of color? Incorporate one of your wedding colors as an accent to graphic black and white.

From beautiful script to handlettering, elegant typography is the way to go this spring. Specialty stationary stores like Paper Source even offer calligraphy courses for DIY brides (or digital options for those not so artistically-inclined.)

Watercolor One Fab Day

One Fab Day

I give credit to Rifle Paper Co. for starting this infatuation with painterly florals and pretty washes of color. This isn’t your classic watercolor, however; dramatic blooms and bold script give this look a surprising edge, while the unexpected palettes make this timeless technique feel more modern. Something tells me Monet would approve.

Book Swash and Fold

Swash and Fold

This has to be one of the coolest ways to incorporate all the pieces of your wedding invitation suite. Not only are the paper stocks and metallic finishings to die for, but this is one invite your guests will keep on display long after the wedding is over.

Rustic Zazzle

The rustic trend is still popular for 2015 and has inspired wedding invites everywhere. Faux woodgrain, baker’s twine, and linen details give stationary suites a more handcrafted look and are perfect for romantic outdoor weddings.
